Insurance Coverage

The therapists with Oak Tree Therapy have varying credentials that are supported by most insurance providers. However, we do not bill employer or private insurance plans directly. In order to determine if your therapist is billable to your insurance health provider. Please check with your insurance provider to see if the services and credentials of your therapist are eligible for coverage through your plan. If so, you will need to submit your receipts directly to them for repayment.

We provide direct billing to the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program, as we have a therapist on our team who is on the NIHB service provider list and is eligible to provide service and bill for First Nations and Inuit clients who have a Treaty number.

As well, we provide direct billing to Jordan’s Principle and other agencies that have referred clients directly to us. Please note that an approval will need to be obtained through the NIHB Program and Jordan’s Principle, prior to beginning with services. This usually takes a few weeks. While we wait for pre-approval, we can complete the intake process with you to get started.

Sliding Scale

We offer sliding scale pricing to clients based on need and an ability to pay for services. This scale applies to those within a designated annual income bracket, which varies throughout the year, based on client demand and general use of the sliding scale.

Upon application, your financial information and standing will be reviewed and matched with our criteria. You will be asked to provide proof of annual earnings through your income tax assessment. A decision will be made on whether your application is a good fit for the sliding scale and the criteria will be used to determine your sliding scale fees. If you are currently covered through an insurance provider it is expected that you will exhaust all funding available to you, prior to accessing the sliding scale at the full posted rates. The sliding scale is a helpful option for those that have concerns about how many sessions their insurance may cover.

Together, we will make a plan to provide the best support possible to assist you throughout your care.
