Biography
My name is Alyssa, and I am completing my masters through Yorkville University. I am pleased to be completing my practicum with Oak Tree Therapy. I hold membership with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapist Association (CCPA). Prior to working as a psychotherapist, I had the privilege to work with kids of all ages as a teacher. I have always felt a strong desire to help others overcome their challenges and achieve their goals whatever they may be. It is that same drive that led me to seek out a profession as a psychotherapist.
My Practice
I believe that every person is the expert of their own life and is capable of changing their lives for the better. It is my goal to assist in helping my clients achieve their vision of wellness by creating a safe space to share their stories. I follow a strength-based, person-centered approach and use various therapeutic strategies to help people on their healing journeys. I have completed courses in trauma-informed therapy and play therapy. It is my goal to consistently learn new skills in this field to help better and understand my clients and support them with their desired outcomes. I look forward to meeting and supporting you on your journey.
