Hi, I’m Ally Forrest (she/her)! I am an occupational therapist. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree at the University of Winnipeg, and my Masters of Occupational Therapy degree at the University of Manitoba. Throughout my career, I have completed additional training in modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). I have had the privilege of working with folks in both the Winnipeg area, as well as in northern/rural parts of Manitoba.
We are more than human beings – we are human doings! Through talking together, we will gain an understanding of what you want and need to be doing, and how who you are and where you are affect those activities. I pull from various therapeutic approaches to support you in learning new skills and strategies. These skills and strategies will allow you to understand your emotions and thinking patterns, manage your stress response, find joy in daily living, connect more to yourself, nature, and others, and live life more fully. I am honoured to get to know a person’s story and love learning about their values. I draw on these values to guide our process and assist you in setting and achieving goals that make your days even more meaningful.
