Biography
Hello and Welcome to Oak Tree Therapy, my name is Alissa Miller, and I am a Master of Counselling Psychology Student with Yorkville University. I am currently completing my practicum placement here at Oak Tree Therapy. I am a current member of the Canadian Counselling and psychological association (CCPA). For the past several years I have worked with children, adolescents and families as a mental health clinician. I have enjoyed supporting others and helping others achieve their goals. I strive to create a safe, therapeutic environment where one can learn and grow. I bring a calm, empathetic and supportive presence to the therapy session and want clients to feel that they are sitting in their own living room.
My Practice
Everyone has a story and I believe each story should be told. My role is to listen and give you the tools to help you heal, grow and succeed in life. Your feelings are your own and are completely valid. My goal is to create a strong therapeutic rapport where one feels comfortable sharing their hopes, dreams, fears and traumas. When working together I want you to feel heard and I want you to be your authentic self. I offer support to those living with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, suicidality, ADHD and relationship issues. Life brings on many challenges and one can only do so much alone and that is why I am here to be your guide and support person. I look forward to walking along side you in your healing journey.
