Hello, my name is Sarah Reader, and I am privileged by the opportunity to work at Oak Tree Therapy in my practicum placement. I hold Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees from the University of Manitoba. I have been teaching various subjects for over ten years, from kindergarten to grade eight. I am currently in the Master of Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. I am a Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association student member and am excited to begin my practicum with Oak Tree Therapy.
My Practice
I began my journey into counselling psychology in January 2023, driven by my passion for helping others. I believe in tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each client, recognizing that everyone’s experience is different. By actively listening and engaging in open dialogue, I aim to create a personalized therapeutic experience that empowers you to explore your thoughts and feelings.
My focus is on fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where you feel understood and valued. I draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques, adapting my methods to align with your goals and preferences. Whether you’re navigating challenges, seeking personal growth, or exploring new perspectives, I am committed to being a compassionate partner on your healing journey.
As Carl R. Rogers beautifully said, “The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.” I look forward to walking alongside you as you explore your path.
